How to transfer conversations of WhatsApp to new devices
WhatsApp is one of the most popular communication tools of the planet. But if you bought a new phone and we wish to transfer our account to the phone, the WhatsApp old messages are not transferred automatically. In this tutorial explains how to transfer the talks of WhatsApp to a new device, so that we can recover the chats where we leave them.
Copy of the chat with Google Drive
WhatsApp includes automatic backups on Google Drive, which makes the process of transferring the chat history WhatsApp between the phones easier. We just have to go to Settings > calls and chats > Copy of the chat. From here you can perform backups manually, or configure it to backup automatically. When installing WhatsApp, we ask if we want to retrieve the chats and multimedia from Google Drive.
Manual backup
If you do not have Google Drive, it is still easy to create a backup to a new phone. It proceeds in the following way:
Open the Settings menu of WhatsApp, Chats and calls and then press in backup of Chat.
Connect your smartphone to your PC using a USB cable, and we are going to the internal memory of the device to the folder WhatsApp / Database. Here is where all the backup files are saved with a date. That will be something like "MSGSTORE-2016-02-05.db.crypt". Copy the file with the latest date of creation in our PC in an easy-to-find location (such as the desktop).
Install WhatsApp on your new device, but not at the moment we started up the application.
Connect your new smartphone to your PC via USB. Now that we have downloaded into the new phone WhatsApp, the folder must exist of WhatsApp / databases. If this is not the case, we can manually create a new folder of databases WhatsApp.
Whatsbackup
We copy the backup file of conversation WhatsApp in that folder.
Now we started up on the new phone WhatsApp and verify the phone number. We should now have a notification that it has found a backup of chat. We only have to press to restore and is already. After a few seconds, all messages should have appeared in the new device.
